Cardzgroup is happy to announce that we have been selected for a rollout project for a Western European Sport Association. This tender, won in conjunction with a local partner, cements Cardzgroup's success as a major player in the European RFID market.
"In the last two years our model has really spoken for itself," says Scott Richardson, Director of Cardzgroup. "While other manufacturers target both the end user and distributor market, our model is to deal only with manufacturers, distributors and integrators. We focus on our core competency of card production, while working in conjunction with local partners who have already established themselves in the market. The result is a win-win partnership." Profile: Paddy Janneman
Paddy has been directly involved in the card industry since 1999 when he joined Prism Payment Technologies as Project Manager. Prior to this, he'd spent 18 years at First National Bank where his last role was as National Roll-out Manager for the bank's Smart card (V-chip) project.
His responsibilities during his 8 year stint at Prism centered around management of GSM related projects with a focus on key material procurement, business processes & accreditation. He was instrumental in ensuring that Prism's Springs card manufacturing facility was the first plant in the Southern Hemisphere to receive the coveted GSM Associations' SAS accreditation.
Paddy joined Altech Namitech in 2008 as Procurement Manager. Outsourcing was a key function that was successfully exploited in order to maintain NamITech's competitive position in the SA card industry. He left what then became Gemalto Namitech in May 2009. During June 2009, he helped to establish Cardzgroup Africa (Pty) Ltd, which is the African arm of Cardzgroup Ltd based in Shenzhen, China. "The prospect of providing the African market with world class products, service & pricing is very exciting. Cardzgroup Africa looks forward to sharing in the growing prosperity of the African continent where we believe there is unlimited potential for growth. The Cardzgroup brand, which has proven itself in the Asian market, is one that we are very proud to be associated with. Our African clients will benefit enormously from the value that we will be able to add to their businesses. This will flow primarily from the service-orientated approach that is a hallmark of the way in which Cardzgroup does business".
Profile Gavin Amos
Gavin has been in the Printing & Packaging industry since 1986. In 1991, he established Independent Packaging & Print - Ipak. He has since built this business into a significant force in the printing & packaging industry. Ipak specializes in litho printing as well as corrugated packaging with applications suited to small & medium sized enterprises as well as products that serve major industries & even Governments, i.e. ballot papers, voting booths etc.
In 2004 Ipak started to service the GSM industry by providing Fulfillment services & in 2008, they expanded this offering to the provision of secure GSM scratch cards. It was therefore part of a natural progression that the association with Cardzgroup Ltd became obvious.
"Cardzgroup first impressed me when, as a client of theirs, they delivered sample cards well within our time expectations. This feat was followed up by unprecedented service & quality when they manufactured production cards in a timeframe that was also nothing short of astounding. This level of performance was unheard of in the African market & I'm delighted to now be part of this dynamic, forward-looking team. There are indeed exciting prospects throughout the continent that a relatively small, flexible organization such as Cardzgroup Africa can exploit to good effect."

Cardzgroup are now pleased to offer the new EM 4200 from EM Microelectronics.
EM4200 is a CMOS integrated circuit intended for use in electronic Read Only RF transponders. It is designed to replace directly the EM Microelectronic-Marin Read Only ICs EM4100/4102 and EM4005/4105.
Comparing to EM4100/4102 and EM4005/4105, the chip provides higher reading range performances and presents on its coil terminals bigger resonant capacitor (210pF and 250pF selectable by mask option).
The 128 bit unique code is stored in laser programmed ROM. Several options are available to use 64, 96 or 128 bits of ROM. The circuit is powered by an external coil placed in an electromagnetic field and gets its master clock from the same field. By turning on and off the modulation current, the chip will send back the unique code
